Handcrafted in London
Empris call button in collaboration with Call Systems Technology. This sleek piece of modern tech, intended for high-end hospitality and private settings, deserved an equally refined and tactile finish. The final design features Brushed Brass casing with a laser-cut perforations in the leather collar, allowing users to see the gentle pulsating light that responds to requests made via the embossed leather buttons on top. While our expertise in electronic engineering was limited, the brilliant team at CST guided us through the developmental design stages with patience and precision. The result is a seamless blend of craftsmanship and innovation—proof that thoughtful leatherwork can bring warmth, elegance, and a human touch to even the most cutting-edge technologies.
Every element of the Iris call button was designed to do more than just function — it was made to feel. The tactile feedback of embossed leather, the ambient glow through precise perforations, the reassuring weight of the brushed brass casing — each component was considered not just for how it worked, but for how it connected with the user.
Working closely with Call Systems Technology, we translated their technical needs into material language, using leather as both a functional and emotional interface. The Iris doesn’t shout. It whispers — responding with quiet confidence and clarity, whether in a private residence, members’ club, or luxury hospitality setting.
This was a true meeting of disciplines — industrial design, material craft, and intuitive technology — brought together in a single, sculptural object.
