Handcrafted in London
We had the honour of restoring two vintage Charles Adnet leather chairs, brought to us by a keen collector who’d spotted them at auction. These mid-century icons—celebrated for their elegant leather wrapping and architectural lines—arrived with decades of well-loved character… and a fair bit of wear.
With care and deep respect for the original design, we rebuilt each chair from the frame up. The leather was replaced and entirely hand-stitched, the structure reinforced, and all those beautifully subtle details that make Adnet’s work so distinctive were brought back to life.
Now ready for a new chapter—still proudly vintage, but refreshed for modern living. A satisfying blend of history and craftsmanship, with just the right amount of Parisian flair.
Restoring vintage pieces is never about making them new — it’s about making them whole again. With the Charles Adnet chairs, our goal was to preserve their quiet confidence and sculptural clarity, while ensuring they were ready for another lifetime of use.
We sourced premium vegetable-tanned leather that mirrored the tone and grain of the original, hand-cut and saddle-stitched each panel with precision, and reworked the internal joins to honour the chairs’ architectural integrity. Every decision was guided by Adnet’s own language of design — functional, elegant, and unapologetically refined.
These aren’t just chairs. They’re conversations between past and present — and we’re proud to have played a part in continuing their story.
