Wilkinson Beven Design approached us to realise an extensive, high-end handrail for a prestigious ski lodge in Courchevel. The design vision called for a seamless blend of elegance and craftsmanship, incorporating our signature overlapped leather technique alongside bespoke polished stainless steel brackets.
Design & Fabrication
The handrail system was meticulously designed to complement the refined aesthetic of the lodge. Key elements included:
Overlapped Leather Wrapping: A sophisticated, tactile finish that enhances both the visual appeal and functionality.
Bespoke Stainless Steel Brackets: Precision laser-cut and fabricated to our exacting specifications in the UK, ensuring flawless integration with the overall design.
Pre-Fabricated Rails: Constructed in London for quality control and ease of installation on-site.
Installation
Once completed, the entire system was shipped to France for fitting onto the striking marble lift core, running up the full height of the building. The result is a statement feature that exudes both sophistication and durability, elevating the ambiance of the lodge’s interior spaces.
